Overtime Pay
You may be eligible for overtime pay if you fall within one of the categories below:- If you are an employee, and earn less than $23,660 per year, you may be entitled to overtime pay
- If you are a non-management employee, and you perform such duties as: construction work, clerical work, maintenance, repair, installation, kitchen, and secretarial work, then generally you are entitled to overtime pay.
- There are some exceptions to every rule, but generally, if you are an hourly employee, you are entitled to overtime pay.
- If you are a commissioned employee and do not travel regularly, you may be entitled to overtime pay.
- If you are a salaried employee and earn a salary of less than $455 per workweek, you may be entitled to overtime pay.
- If you are a salaried employee and earn $455 or more per workweek, you may be entitled to overtime pay if your job duties do not fall within one of the narrowly-defined overtime exemptions, such as; an executive, administrative, a professional, outside sales, or a computer-related exemption.
- There are other administrative positions where you may be entitled to overtime compensation, including but not limited to, administrative assistants, customer service representatives, call center, and inside sales people.
